Initially, these races, plural because it is
usual practice to consider Divisions as
separate,
were abandoned . In the case of the cats,
race control was abandoned before the
prescribed
number of laps in the sailing instructions.
In the case of the dinghies, race control was
abandoned prior to all boats finishing.
Later advice, however, indicated that the
trailing boat
in question had retired. Accordingly,
because the result system is not currently
capable of
distinguishing between Divisions for the
purposes of an abandonment declaration, both
Divisions
are now considered to be non abandoned.
