sailing. Most boats capsized multiple
times.
Bare hulls tossed around on the beach.
A
damaging wind warning was current.
Gusts
were
consistently at twice the average wind
speed
with
large changes in direction. The normal
starting
sequence on Rescue 8 was abandoned to
assist
the other Rescue boat particularly with
sailors
separated
from
their capsized boats. This had little
consequence
on the racing as only one boat in Start Div 3
managed
to
complete the shortened course. |
