Sugarloaf Sailing Club has a program designed to encourage children to sail.
Children can join the Squad as family members or become junior members for a nominal fee. Either way, they are full members and can sail at Sugarloaf whenever we are open using our club boats. As members, they may choose to be trained free of charge at one of our training courses or may like to participate in our Squad or both.

The Squad introduces children to sailing and helps them develop their training skills. Our aim is for juniors to be able to handle a sailing boat with confidence and to enjoy sailing. We do this through on water training, coaching and experience.
Past young sailors have become keen racers either at Sugarloaf or elsewhere or they have found other interests. In any case, they have acquired a set of skills that go well beyond how to keep a boat moving. Skills that will never leave them.
Sailing is a great sport but it can also be a lifestyle, a profession and a way of thinking. |
