SUGARLOAF SAILING CLUB MARATHON
The second Saturday in February from about 1000 hours to about 1645 hours DST, totalling 6 hours of racing, to be sailed at Sugarloaf Reservoir,
Christmas Hills Victoria.
1. Rules
The regatta/race will be governed by the current ISAF Racing Rules, the prescriptions and special
regulations of Yachting Australia, the rules of the classes entered (except any of those that are altered by the sailing instructions) and by the sailing instructions.

4. Advertising
The regatta is classified as a Category A Event in accordance with Appendix G and the Prescriptions of Yachting Australia.
5. Eligibility and Entry
5.1 The regatta is open to all off the beach classes. This does not include any
class with cabin/toilet facilities which may be capable of being launched off the beach.
5.2 Eligible boats may register at the rigging beach shelter at Sugarloaf Sailing Club on the day. Sailing instructions will be available at registration.
6. Fees
$5.00
7. Schedule of Events
Registration: shall be on
Saturday 11th, February 2006 from 0830 hours to 0945 hours DST at the Rigging Beach Shelter.
NOTE. After arriving at the rigging area all cars should be removed within 10 minutes to
the top car park. Then rig your boat.
A competitors information session will be held at 930 hours at the
Club flagstaff near the rigging area.
A 5 minute warning signal shall be given at approximately 955 hours.
A Mandatory 45 minute lunch break is to commence between 1200 hours and 1430 hours.
The marathon shall finish after 6 hours of sailing, at about 1645 hours (unless the course is shortened).
8. Measurement/Safety
8.1 Measurement is not required but a winner of a prize may be required to submit
proof on demand at the regatta of holding a valid current measurement or rating certificate.
8.2 A Safety Inspection my be carried out at any time.
9. Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available at registration.
10. Regatta Site and Racing Area
The regatta site and racing area will be as shown in Illustration "A". Particular care shall be
taken to NOT sail into the NO SAILING areas.

11. Course
A typical course shall be around buoys located near the extremities of the sailing area.
The final course will be described on the course board prior to the commencement of the regatta.
12. Scoring
Scoring will be based on the current class yardstick as amended by the sailing instructions.
13. Penalty for Breaking Rules of Part 2.
Penalty. Rule 44.2 will apply.

14. Protests
Decisions of the Jury will be final in accordance with racing rule 70.4.
15. Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the overall winner and to the second and third place getters.
Additional prizes may be awarded by Sugarloaf Sailing Club as it sees fit.
